View on Le Morne Brabant / Panorama Photography

from Le Morne Brabant Panorama, Mauritius.

Found at the South-Western coast of Mauritius Island, Le Morne Brabant is an impressive rocky mountain and sets itself apart from others, also well known as the surf and kite surf village. History made this mountain famous and is known to form part of The World Heritage Sites, Runaway slaves used Le Morne Mountain as hideout to ensure they won't be captured again. After slavery was at last abolished, an expedition was sent to inform them that they were free people at present but unfortunately they misunderstood the campaign and jumped from the summit into the death.
We went for high sea fishing along with our photography teacher, analyzing the lighting conditions and time lines. Wow we did not expect we would hunt for photography shots on high sea, well it was a pleasant experience and we learned new things. At least the tutor caught a fish hahaha.. Lots of images taken handheld and stitched together to create this ultra wide panorama.

Weather conditions: Near dusk & partly cloudy + slightly windy.
Difficulties: First time shooting from a fishing boat perspective and conditions.
Camera: Nikon D70s
Lens: Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 EX DC

First studio shots / Studio Photography

some quick shots taken with Ashveen..

Well this is my first time shots taken in studio, so I am totally new to this environment.. We had as assignment to take portraits of each other with our own lighting setup, it was mainly a testshot. I thought it was easier than expected but it wasn't the case! We had a great experience for a first shot, and learned a lot from the lighting setups.. Thank you Mr. Jameel Perally.

View on Port-Louis / Panorama Photography

from the Signal Mountain, Mauritius.

Some friends and I planned to go to the Signal mountain on a public holiday for some photo shots.. It was quite a painful ascension :( the girls couldn't go much further, they walked only for about 250 meters & abandoned the path track.. We continued our path and it was really worth! Beautiful views on Port-Louis & its region were captured, the fresh & light morning breeze was very relaxing. I didn't breathe fresh air since ages because nowadays life is busy & stressful. 3 images taken handheld were stitched to create the wide panorama, using the photo stitching software PTGui.

Weather conditions: Morning, sunny & partly cloudy.
Difficulties: Had to walk a long distance to reach the mountain tip, and it was really hot.
